Meredith Polm is a proud Maryland Terrapin alum who works as a Curriculum Design and Program Development Specialist at the Close Up Foundation. With a Master’s in Education and an undergraduate background in Psychology and Public Health, she is interested in the many ways that research and public policy can, should, or do impact people’s everyday lives. Before her work with Close Up, Meredith was chosen from tens of thousands of applicants to be a 2011 Teach For America corps member in Kansas City, Missouri. Following her work with Teach For America, Meredith returned to the east coast. She spent four years working as a Financial Consultant before making her way back to education by joining Close Up. Meredith currently lives in Washington D.C.–fulfilling a childhood dream! When she’s not writing curriculum for Close Up or exploring the Nation’s Capital, she loves to read, travel, or practice one of her ever-changing hobbies.
