Travel back in time!
Students will not only walk in the footsteps of Civil War soldiers but they will also discover our country’s most iconic sites on Close Up’s thrilling 5-day/4-night Washington, DC and Gettysburg Program. Guided by our highly-trained instructors, students have the opportunity to:
- Discuss the historic events that have shaped our nation through visits to DC’s must-see sites;
- Engage with peers to debate the most pressing issues facing our nation in an exciting, hands-on Mock Congress;
- Experience the Battle of Gettysburg through a dramatic sound and light program that is as tall as a four-story building;
- Discover the Gettysburg Museum’s interactive exhibit featuring relics from the Battle of Gettysburg;
- Reflect on the importance of one of America’s great speeches while visiting Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address site; and
- Walk your way through the Battle of Gettysburg and learn more about the turning point in the Civil War with a Gettysburg Park Ranger!
Participation in a Close Up program requires parent or guardian approval for any participants under 18 years of age.
